BAC + Lynch Park = Happiness

It’s finally Summer (though someone needs to inform Mother Nature), and at Beverly Athletic Club, that means Fitness in the Park! We look forward to this chance to get outside and move! This idea started six years ago when we decided to bring some of our classes down to Lynch Park to share with the community. And what could be better than doing that while feeling the sun on your face, breathing the salt air and enjoying the beauty that is unique to our seaside community.

This year we are offering a series of six different Wednesday night classes ranging from a flowing mindbody experience, to high-intensity cardio options. There’s really something for everyone. We kick it off with Soul PHIIT, an interval class that combines sets of high-intensity cardio with Pilates inspired core work. You’ll burn lots of calories in less time. Then we’ll shift gears to Mat Pilates where you’ll challenge your core strength with this total body workout.  Zumba comes next – a real crowd pleaser with a devoted following! You’ll dance, smile and have so much fun you’ll hardly know you’re working out. Breathe, flow and stretch in our Vinyassa style Yoga class. There’s nothing better than to experience this mindful movement in the beauty of the outdoors. We’ll then rev up the intensity with BodyCombat, an empowering cardio workout drawing from several different disciplines of the martial arts. Get your heart pumping and leave feeling strong and ready to take on the world! We’ll wind down our series with Soul Cardio Barre. This total body workout combines cardio bursts along with movement taken from the Barre to create great posture and target muscles in the lower body. All the classes are free and we welcome anyone from the surrounding community!

And here’s a great addition to our line-up…this year we’re so excited to partner with The Kayak Learning Center to offer you a great chance to experience Stand Up Paddle at Lynch Park! Woot-woot!! Here’s your chance to try SUP, or maybe you already love it. After each of our Fitness in the Park classes, you will have the unique opportunity to rent paddle boards for only $5 between the hours of 7pm – 8pm. What could be better than winding down after class enjoying the sunset on the water! Easy answer – nothing!

So, get outside – celebrate summer and just feeling happy to move and enjoy your surroundings! We can’t wait to see you – and bring along a friend or two!
