The Beverly Master Swim Program

It’s never too late to start swim lessons at Beverly Athletic Club. In fact, we have an amazing pool with dedicated instructors who will teach you what you need to know about swimming, techniques, and water safety. Plus, it’s a great workout to get in the water!

The Beverly Athletic Club Masters Swim program will provide participants with a range of low-impact exercises to increase endurance, lung capacity, and overall fitness. Workouts are between 1,500 and 3,000 yards or more of lap swimming (dependent on ability) and will include both aerobic and anaerobic drills, stroke development, and goal-setting.

Did you know that swimming works a large variety of muscle groups? Water can support up to 90% of the body’s weight, making it an ideal form of exercise for people with injuries, chronic pain, or disabilities. Unlike running and strength training, swimming is exercise you can do almost every day without risk of injury. An hour of swimming can burn as many as 500 calories. Swimming is a great way to increase flexibility and range of motion.

We recommend that you bring tight-fitting goggles, water bottle, and swim cap for long hair.
