Levels of children’s swim lessons at BAC
First-time swimmers or children who are timid in the water will become more comfortable and safe as they learn basic kicking, arm strokes, and submerging their faces. If you are looking for swimming lessons for children, our Beverly health club is where to be.
Don’t think your child will thrive in a group setting? Our Beverly gym also offers private lessons. Private swimming lessons provide the greatest flexibility and one-on-one attention for swimmers of any age and ability and are especially useful for students wanting to learn at their own pace and overcome any difficulties they have in the water.
Level 1 is for absolute beginners. Children are taught breathing techniques, submerging, floating, and gaining confidence in the water.
Level 2 is for students ready to swim short distances. Children learn proper body positions and begin to learn different strokes and breathing techniques.
Level 3 is for students who can swim one length of the pool. Children refine stroke technique for front crawl and learn backstroke and how to tread water.
Level 4 is for students comfortable with swimming several lengths. Children refine strokes, develop endurance and practice breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.
Level 5 is for advanced students. Children refine stroke techniques and increase endurance, learning proper starts and turns as well as swimming terminology.
